Profile

For the past two and a half years I have worked for HRS Real Estate as a project manager for the construction of the new cantonal children’s hospital in the centre of Lausanne.

In 2016 I was made Associate with Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP) having joined the practice as a year-out student in 2006, and where I worked for thirteen years until 2021

I worked on the Geneva Airport Aile Est project for ten years and in August 2016, relocated with my family to Switzerland to follow the construction on site. Prior to the Aile Est competition win I was part of the teams for One Hyde Park and NEO Bankside in London as well as The Grand Theatre Hotel in Beirut.

I completed my degree at the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow and went on to study in Unit 23 at the Bartlett in London while continuing to work part time, graduating with distinction in 2010.

In 2014, I took a sabbatical to complete a self-build project in Devon – converting a former brewery building into a home for my expanding family. It was a busy two years, a fantastic experience and a project I am particularly proud of.

I’m a keen maker and interested in making as an integral part of the design process. I particularly enjoy the cross over between digital and analogue manufacturing, craft and design and I usually have a side project on the go in the garage, whether that’s a piece of furniture, a bicycle, a Halloween installation or a wooden spoon.

I love cycling. I ride regularly and have done a number of multi-day long-distance charity rides, most recently London to Scotland to visit the completed Macallan distillery designed by RSHP with a group of fellow cyclists from the office. I also enjoy walking, skiing and camping – in fact most things outdoors. I am 43 and live with my partner and our two children.
